Wyoming’s Stage Stop Sled Dog Race Begins Friday in Jackson

Have you ever raced a dog sled?

23 teams of sled dogs will race 350 miles through 4 states starting Friday, January 25, in Jackson, Wyoming.

It's the 18th annual International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race that will stop in 8 Wyoming locations on the way to the finish line in Evanston on February 2.

Fashioned after the Tour de France bicycle race, the teams compete during the day and rest overnight in different cities along the route. Stops this year include Jackson Hole, West Yellowstone, Pinedale, Lander, Big Piney and Kemmerer.

It was a cold Friday night at Okie Blanchard Stadium, but the home team kept their fans warm with a convincing win over their cross town rivals.

Congratulations to the East High Thunderbirds, they defeated the Central Indians 45 to 6 and will travel to Casper to face the Natrona Mustangs next week in the 4A High School Football playoffs.
