Did you buy a ticket to win the 'Smokey & The Bandit' Trans Am?

After the Cheyenne Christmas Parade, the drawing was held for the Cheyenne Wheels For Charity Trans Am and the winner is Doug Thompson.

Nick 'The Midas Guy' Dodgson called the winner on Saturday night, November 28, after the drawing was held at the 25th Annual Cheyenne Christmas Parade downtown. The winning ticket was purchased by Doug Thompson of Valley Springs, Arkansas.

Last weekend, Doug and his son came to Cheyenne to pick up their prize and take it back to Arkansas. The Cheyenne Wheels 4 Charity Facebook page has lots more pictures. Doug says he's already taken several people for rides.

The real winners of this annual drawing were once again the three charities that they were helping this year. The proceeds from all the $25 tickets sales will be split between these local charities:

  • The Cheyenne Family YMCA Youth Program
  • Safehouse Services of Cheyenne
  • Habitat for Humanity of Laramie County

Nick says the 2015 Wheels 4 Charity raffle raised a total of $69,000. Added to the 2014 proceeds when the Midas Mustang was given away, that makes a grand total of more than $135,000 to help out local organizations.

Thank you to everyone who bought a ticket to support these local organizations and here's hoping that Nick and our friends at Midas will be willing to fix up another classic vehicle and do it all again next year.
