A drive south from Cheyenne on US 85 will stop you in Greeley, Colorado, where the flood waters have gone over the road at 42nd Street, in Evans.

Don't let this shot fool you. Just to the south and east of here, the waters have devastated many homes and farms. The Saint Vrain River joined the South Platte River just before this stretch of road, while the Cache La Poudre joins just a bit down stream. All of this water is what hit the front range over the last several days and did so much damage and claimed at least 4 lives.

The South Platte is 10 times wider than normal, and is half a mile wide. If you end up stranded in Evans, Large parts of town are under NO-FLUSH restrictions for the next 10 days. No showers, no laundry, boil your water. And at this time, 6PM, the clouds are threatening more rain.
