The last great race on earth starts today in Anchorage, Alaska.

The ceremonial start of the Iditarod sled dog race begins today in Anchorage and the real deal begins tomorrow in Willow, Alaska. We attended last year while living in Alaska and it was magnificent. The mushers and their teams of incredible sled dogs are to Alaska what the rodeo is to Cheyenne.
