The Last Hippie In Sundance

The Sundance Film Festival wraps this weekend in Park City, Utah and the movie that caught my attention features music of Bob Dylan, Buffalo Springfield and the Grateful Dead. Even the title of the film is a Grateful Dead song The Music Never Stopped.

It's based on Oliver Sack's case study The Last Hippie about a family's teenage son who ran away 20 years ago and now turns up in a hospital with a brain tumor. The boy's father thinks music has poisoned his son's mind but it's the only thing that triggers his memory. This is the first feature film for director Jim Kohlberg. Bob Weir and Mickey Hart of the Grateful Dead were at Sundance promoting the film.  I can't wait to hear the soundtrack.
