Would you pay $50 for a parking spot?

Carloads by the dozen were shelling out big bucks Friday night for the best spots in the neighborhood surrounding Frontier Days Park.

The most expensive lot we saw Friday night was advertising $50 spaces just across from the park on 8th Avenue and Carey. And it was full.

Other homeowners several blocks away were selling parking spots for $25.

By the time Sam Hunt took the stage around 9 p.m., the closest street parking left was nearly a mile away from the park entrance on 2nd Avenue and Capitol.

Crowds were considerably smaller on Saturday and Sunday. Even with the lighter turnout, neighborhood vendors were still selling parking for $20 a spot. And they were full again.
