Veterans and their families and survivors in Cheyenne, Wyoming, are invited to participate in a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) town hall discussion to hear the latest on VA programs and provide their own feedback on benefits and services provided by VA.

The town hall is one of many being held around the country. New VA Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert McDonald announced the town hall meetings to improve communications with, and hear directly from, Veterans nationwide as an important step toward improving the delivery of benefits and services and rebuilding trust among all those VA serves.

The VA’s Cheyenne Veterans Service Center is inviting public participation in the September 9, 2014, town hall to be held in the Auditorium, Room BL-75, Buffalo Building at the Cheyenne VA Medical Center, 2360 East Pershing Blvd, Cheyenne, WY 82001, from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The meeting is open to all members of the public, including Congressional stakeholders, Veterans Service Organizations, state and local governmental and non-governmental organizations, and other community partners.

According to a news release the VA welcomes frank and open discussion of Veterans’ concerns in all VA program areas. Following the town hall, regional office officials will brief VA’s leaders on the input received and suggestions for improvements.

Claims representatives will be on hand to assist Veterans personally after the town hall with questions or issues related to their individual claims. VA representatives will also be available to assist Veterans in enrolling in eBenefits, the VA and Department of Defense online web portal with over 55 self-service options that allow users to learn about VA benefits and file claims online.
