I don’t go to bars often, but I liked this one. It could have something to do with the cheeseburgers

A local favorite for years, The Bunkhouse Bar & Grill, located at 1064 Happy Jack Rd. outside of Cheyenne, was hosting a car show on a Sunday afternoon in late summer of 2016. I was search for a great cheeseburger, and I had heard I could find one here.

My wife and I got there late in the afternoon. A lot of the classic cars had gone, the band Moe Diggin was playing a great variety of songs and played them well. Not many bands have the confidence to take on Pink Floyd. We were both impressed with the quality of the band.

Inside, adults and children were all getting along in a casual and warm way that showed that families have been able to find a great place to hang together for years, whether you drive a truck, sports car or ride a horse. It is good common ground with good food.

Owner Rod Romer said he didn’t skimp on quality and it was true. Good beef, quality bun, crisp bacon, real cheese, not a slice of Kraft soy oil cheese like product. Good tomatoes, pickles, salad, onion rings, and sides. Friendly service. Very well done.

While I found the whole experience very enjoyable, I really liked the atmosphere and the feeling of refuge from hunger and thirst out away from the city with a very friendly staff and clientele.

It was a good find. It has Wyoming written all over it. I just thought I would it share with you.
