If you have ever took a trip across America, or Wyoming for that matter, then you have experienced "road kill" on the highway. But what animals are the ones that don't make it?  Today, we want to take a look at what are the animals that make their way across the roads and just aren't able to make it home on time for dinner. We'll look at the highest numbers of animals killed on the roads according to a project study.

  1. Squirrels - 41 Million killed a year
  2. Cats - 26 Million killed a year
  3. Rats - 22 Million killed a year
  4. Opossums - 19 Million a year
  5. Raccoons - 15 Million a year

What animals have you hit on the roadways? Share them with us in the comments section below. Remember, while driving on the highways, watch out for those critters, both big and small.
