American Craft Beer Week is underway and, to celebrate, here's our list of the Top 5 Places For Beer Lovers in Cheyenne.

1. Freedom's Edge Brewing Company - This downtown brewpub has been handcrafting a variety of quality ales since 2012. Their offerings range from Wheat beers to IPA's to Imperial Stouts. In a spite of a change in location last year, and a failed attempt to launch a brewpub in old town Fort Collins, Freedom's Edge is still the top spot for craft beer aficionados in Cheyenne.

2. The Cheyenne Brewing Company - Although they just opened recently, the early reviews for the new restaurant and brewpub have been overwhelmingly positive. After taking over the space once occupied by Shadow's and the Snake River Brewing Company in the historic Cheyenne Depot, the new owners say they plan to produce a variety of locally sourced beers along with favorites from across the region.

3. Sanford's Pub and Grub - Not only is Sanford's one of most uniquely decorated watering holes in town, it also has an excellent beer selection. Sadly, they no longer brew their own beers, however they do offer a variety of craft brews on tap and in the bottle. And their prices are decent too.

4. Old Chicago - Like Sanford's, Old Chicago is another chain restaurant that does not produce their own beer. However, their beer selection is enormous. In fact, you can literally drink your way around the world and sample beers from every continent except for Antarctica. Be warned though, if you order a beer brewed in Africa, don't expect it to be served fresh.

5. Wyoming Rib + Chop House - Sure, it a regional chain, and it's primarily a steakhouse, but if you ever belly up to the bar at this popular downtown restaurant, you'll be pleasantly surprised with their impressive beer selection. And nothing goes better with a tasty brew than a juicy steak.

Did I leave anyone off the list? If you're a beer lover, feel free to drop me a line and tell about your favorite place to toss back a cold one here in Cheyenne, Rick.roddam@townsquaremedia.com.
