Torrington Trooper Beats Cancer

A Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper is back on the road after beating cancer.

After an eight and a half month battle with esophageal cancer, Torrington Trooper Mark Shinost returned to full duty status this week.

Shinost has been with the Highway Patrol for nearly 26 years and has sported a mustache for as long as most can remember.

On December 4, 2014, fellow troopers started the "Mustaches for Mark" campaign encouraging supporters to grow out their mustaches in support of Shinost and his family.
