A 31 year old Cheyenne man has been ordered to undergo a mental evaluation after pleading not guilty by reason of mental illness to first degree murder charges in Laramie County District Court on Thursday.

Christopher Town is accused of shooting his wife Crystal in front of their 10 year old daughter at the family home on Magnolia Drive October 2. First Degree murder carries a penalty of Life in Prison or the Death Penalty under Wyoming law.

District Attorney Scott Homar says he has not yet decided whether to seek the death penalty in the case.
