The U.S. Marshals Service is asking for the public's help in finding a man who allegedly fled from a halfway house in Cheyenne.

Marshals Service spokesman Justin Stephenson says Victor Gardea was originally arrested in Texas on charges of aggravated assault with a weapon. Stephenson says Gardea left a halfway house in Cheyenne on October 11, and is believed to still be in the area.

Gardea faces felony warrants for probation violation on the original charge as well as the escape. He is described as standing 5'9 and weighing around 150 pounds. He has a  tattoo with the words "brown pride" on his neck. Stephenson says at the time of his escape Gardea had a shaved head, but adds his hair may have grown back since then.

Gardea is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone with information on him is being asked to call the Marshals Service at (307) 772-2196.
