Did you hear that a Wyoming Cowboy was picked in this year's NFL draft?

Former UW outside Linebacker Mark Nzeocha will still be a Cowboy after being drafted by Dallas in the 7th round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

The Dallas Cowboys used a late pick they got from the San Diego Chargers to chose Nzeocha in the seventh round as the 236 player drafted into the NFL for 2015.

Mark Nzeocha came to Wyoming with his younger brother Eric from Germany. At the beginning of the University of Wyoming football season in 2014, he was named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week after the game against Montana where he finished with a team-high 12 tackles (8 solo), three pass break-ups and a sack in Wyoming's season-opening 17-12 victory.

Due to his length and speed, Nzeocha is expected to help Dallas on special teams and with pass coverage. The outside linebacker is 6' 2'' tall and weighs 232 pounds. His downfalls may be a season-ending knee injury last October and his unfamiliarity with the NFL after playing in European leagues.

Congratulations to University of Wyoming Cowboy player Mark Nzeocha for being picked in the 2015 NFL Draft. He joins a distinct list of pokes to play in professional football.

The last player chosen in this year's draft, annually known as 'Mr. Irrelevant,' was Gerald Christian, a tight end from Louisville who was picked 256th by the Arizona Cardinals.
