No. 844 will also pull a special train as a fundraiser for the Cheyenne Depot Museum. Union Pacific spokesman Mark Davis says special trains have carried passengers to Cheyenne Frontier Days as far back as 1908.

In order to get in position to pull this year's Cheyenne Frontier Days special train, No. 844 will depart Cheyenne for Denver on Thursday, July 18th at 9:30 a.m. The train carrying passengers will depart from Denver on Saturday July 20th at 7 a.m. and is set to arrive in Cheyenne at 10 a.m. It will depart on Saturday afternoon at 5:30 p.m. and arrive in Denver at 8:45 p.m.

A special train sponsored by The Cheyenne Depot Museum will be pulled by No. 844 on Sunday July 21st from Denver to Cheyenne. That train will leave Denver at 1 p.m. on Sunday and is set to arrive in Cheyenne at 5:30 p.m.

A special GPS transmitter was installed on one of the rail cars that will travel with No. 844. The system has been integrated with a map on UP's website so website visitors will be able to track the locomotive's location.
