One of the most entertaining seminars at this weekend's Wyoming Women's Festival was a self defense breakout session.  The seminar was conducted by Chauncy Emerine, a 3rd degree black belt and instructor at American Legacy Martial Arts in Cheyenne.

With some help from his fellow expert Heidi Carter, Emerine showed the women in attendance how to protect themselves from a variety of physically and mentally threatening situations.  Among the many tips offered during the hour long session, Emerine and Carter urged participants to remain calm in case of an attack, remember to breathe, yell the word "Fire" as loud as you possibly can and be prepared to defend yourself by maneuvering away from the attacker and trying to disable him with punches, elbows and kicks to the groin.
