Have you started working on filing your income taxes yet?

For households whose total income in 2012 was less than $50,000, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance is available at Laramie County Community College.

Beginning January 30 through April 15, VITA IRS Certified Volunteers will prepare income tax returns free for those who do not have enough money to pay a professional. Volunteers are available on Mondays and Wednesdays between 5 and 7:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 to 11:30 a.m. in LCCC's Training Center, Building 16, room 103.

The volunteers can only prepare the income tax forms for which they have been trained so there are some limitations.

Those seeking assistance are asked to bring photo identification, income documentation and proof of any deductible expenses. You are also encouraged to bring your 2011 tax return if possible.
