Walk MS 2014 At The Cheyenne Depot On April 26

Walk MS Cheyenne

On Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Cheyenne Depot Plaza, the Colorado-Wyoming Walk MS Chapter will host an event of volunteerism, fundraising and walking to help find a cure for this debilitating and painful disease.

More than 400,000 people in the United States have Multiple Sclerosis, or commonly known as MS. Among young adults, MS is the most common disease of the central nervous system and fatigue is one of the most common symptoms of MS (Diagnosis of MS is usually between 20 and 40 years of age and affects more women than men).

Chances are someone you know has MS, or has a friend or family member with MS. And you can help support their cause.

Every year Walk MS helps more than 100,000 people affected by MS in Colorado and Wyoming move their lives forward. They raise funds locally to support the Society’s cutting-edge research, and provide comprehensive programs and support services for people touched by MS (including family members, friends, employers, caregivers and health care professionals).

Registration begins at the Cheyenne Depot Plaza at 9 a.m., and the Walk starts at 10 a.m. Walkers can register online or at the walk. A lunch will be provided by Papa John’s Pizza at the finish line for a small fee.

Participants may either select the one-or three-mile walk, which will take you through historical downtown Cheyenne. The three-mile walk takes you near the Capital building on 24th Street.

The goal this year is to raise $120,000, with about 600 participants.

If you are interested in being a part of the 2014 Walk MS, you can register your team online at Cheyenne Walk MS, or call Stacy Richardson at 307-433-8664.
