We can get some pretty bad storms here in our part of the country. And when a storm starts to brew, you know what to do. Get inside, or in your car, and wait it out. But first, you need to make sure "Ol' Glory" is properly taken care of. At least that is what a man in North Carolina was doing prior to a big storm last week.

When the thunderstorm began, Brian Willard decided he needed to bring the stars and stripes inside. But, as he brought it in, he held the flag pole up proudly. Seconds later, a lightning bolt touched down 75 feet away.

WATCH HIS REACTION!

For the record, Brian returned moments later to pick up the flag and take it inside. No flags were harmed in the making of the video.
