The University of Wyoming men's basketball team went to play the Utah State Aggies last night and up to that point they were hanging on the road. Four straight road victories going into the Utah State game. What went wrong with a 56-44 loss to Utah State? The Pokes stood around. A lot. You can't stand and look at the "glass" without clearing the "glass." The Cowboys got a lesson in glass cleaning.  The Cowboys got beat at what they do best. Offensive rebounding and running. The Cowboys acted like they were stuck in mud. Wyoming shot just 36 percent (18-of-50) from the field, their second-lowest showing this season, and 30 percent (7-of-23) beyond the arc. The Pokes made just one free throw and attempted three, both season lows. The Aggies (12-8, 5-3 MW) hit 48 percent (24-of-50) from the field and 36 percent (5-of-14) from deep, while outrebounding the Cowboys, OUT REBOUNDING THE COWBOYS,  32-28 and earning a 30-18 advantage in points in the paint! That's being lazy! To say that the Aggies had a home court advantage is like saying "cannabis is legal in Colorado."  You can't blame the officiating. The Pokes did not come ready to play. There are those pundits that have already written off the Cowboys for a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Those pundits haven't experienced the Mountain West Conference Tournament. The Cowboys (17-4, 6-2 MW) still get to play some of the lower tiered teams in the Conference in addition to some top tier teams at home down the stretch. It's not a stretch to see the Pokes as a 25 game winner. If of course they take care of business at home. 25 wins puts the University of Wyoming Cowboys firmly in the NCAA Tournament. I think Shyatt is telling his kids the exact same thing.
