Merle Haggard & Marty Stewart 2003 (flickR User/glasater 99362)

What did you like best about this year's Cheyenne Frontier Days?

Maybe you had some great pancakes, or loved something about the parade, discovered a new ride at the carnival, found out some history about Cheyenne's ghosts or saw one of your favorites in concert?

My favorite part of CFD this year was seeing the legendary Merle Haggard on Sunday, July 22. He played all the songs I was hoping to hear, like 'Mama Tried,' 'Pancho and Lefty,' 'Workin' Man Blues' and 'Okie From Muskogee,' plus many great stories and commentary and even a Johnny Cash cover, 'Folsom Prison Blues.'

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds annual performance was a close second and the carnival was fun as always too, with some new rides like the Super Shot and the Skywalker.

And don't forget the tasty funnel cakes! What did you like best?
