Did you see some concerts this year?

What was your favorite live show of 2011?

We were fortunate to see more than our usual fair share this year and there were some really good ones, so the choice of "the best" was a tough one.

I'd have to say the Foo Fighters performance at the Pepsi Center is the one that really stands out. They played for more than two-and-a-half hours and returned for a five song encore. Their "Wasting Light" album this year is showing up on a lot of "best of" lists and has been nominated for numerous awards.

The bands opening for Foo Fighters put on quite a show too. Cage The Elephant, out of Bowling Green, Kentucky, have a bright future ahead of them. Their second album called "Thank You, Happy Birthday" came out in January 2011.

The opening act was Mariachi El Bronx, the alter ego of the hard core Los Angeles punk bank The Bronx. Their performance brought the culture and beauty of traditional Mariachi music together with a rough edge of rap and punk attitude. They were a sight to see too, all dressed in matching, sparkling Mariachi Band suits.
