In Sunday’s Broncos – Chiefs game, Peyton Manning tossed a four yard pass to set a record for the most passing yards ever in the NFL. But that was the only bright spot for Peyton and the Broncos yesterday.  Peyton went 5-of-20 for 35 yards with no touchdowns and four interceptions . . . and got BENCHED in the third quarter.  The Broncos went on to lose the game 29-13.  Previous record holder Brett Favre posted a video on Facebook to congratulate Peyton for the record.

On this Monday morning after, ESPN is reporting via Adam Shefter Tweet

Denver's Peyton Manning has torn plantar fascia in right foot, league sources tell ESPN. Manning was battling plantar fasciitis; worsened”

Not only could that explain Peyton’s poor performance against Kansas City, but leaves it questionable as to whether The Broncos can field Manning up against Chicago this weekend and The Patriots after that.

I don’t believe Peyton should be permanently benched but this could be a problem with no quick fix. Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said "This is on me. I should have probably made the decision not to play him." against The Chiefs and now he may have to let Brock Osweiler take the QB slot indefinitely.

Luckily, The Broncos have a comfortable lead in the AFC West thanks to Peyton and the team. Let’s hope number 18 can quickly heal from this very painful injury.
