On Saturday Night A-Z we will be playing B songs. Which B songs come to your mind?

I see we have Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog" coming up. We also have some big and bad and black and blue songs. The boss Bruce Springsteen has both his born album titles and "Blinded by the Light" covered by Manfred Mann's Earth Band. Other popular tunes on the way are "Black Betty" by Ram Jam and "Barracuda" by Heart.

There are also some great rock and roll stories about how some "B" songs got their names. Eric Clapton and George Harrison were cowriting a song for Derek and the Dominoes, when Eric misread George's notes. He read the word "bridge" as "badge" and that became the title of the song. Another rock and roll story involves Dickey Betts of the Allman Brothers. He wrote "Blue Sky" for his Native American girlfriend/wife  Sandy "Bluesky" Wabegijig. The song "Jessica" is about their daughter.

I invite you to join me Saturday night from six to midnight. We will have some fun seeing how far we can get through the alphabet.
