Friday, June 5th is National Doughnut Day, but where are the good doughnuts in Cheyenne, and who has the best?

Where do you score a great doughnut in Cheyenne? I’ve only come up with two doughnut shops in the Capitol City, one being Daylight Doughnuts, with two locations in Cheyenne, and the other being Delectable Doughnuts at 2543 East Lincolnway, in Cheyenne.  That’s it?

There were two other locations in Cheyenne, but Winchell’s on Windmill Road and Boston Doughnuts on East Lincolnway are gone. Safeway, King Soopers, and Sam’s Club also carry doughnuts, as do many of the convenience stores including the Flying J, however those doughnuts are often pre-made and shipped to those stores, so I’m not sure if that actually qualifies, but for the sake of “doughnut store lack,” we’ll include them in this little survey as well.

Everyone has a favorite doughnut, I personally love the French Crawler doughnut, while my wife favors either a nice glazed doughnut, or a nice cake doughnut, either plain, or with cinnamon and sugar.  What’s your favorite doughnut, and who makes your best “doughnut favorite” in Cheyenne?

Which doughnut shop in Cheyenne makes the best Crawler?  Which doughnut shop has the best Glazed Doughnut?  Am I missing out on some hidden doughnut shops in Cheyenne, or possibly restaurants in the area that make their own doughnuts, and if so, where are they?  Do share your favorite doughnut, and what donut shop (or place) do you favor the most!

The Salvation Army on 20th will give away doughnuts beginning at 7 a.m. Word is that Albertsons on Pershing will offer a free glazed doughnut between 7 & 10 a.m. If you’ll be in Fort Collins, Colorado, the Dunkin’ Donuts will give you a freebie with beverage purchase (worth the drive, right?) And at The Krispy Krème Doughnuts in Denver, you can also get a fatty delight for free on Friday.
