Whole Foods Market is expanding and they could be coming to Cheyenne. Amazon is reportedly scouting locations for a Whole Foods store and shipping outlet for their Prime Now delivery service, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Amazon acquired Whole Foods Market for $13.5 billion in 2017 and is planning to expand the brand in conjunction with their Prime Now service. No specific locations have been confirmed, but the report indicates a proposed 45,000 sq. ft. facility would function as a grocery store and a regional shipping hub.

Amazon Prime Now currently provides two-hour grocery delivery service at 473 Whole Foods stores in 60 cities. They hope that expanding to smaller states like Wyoming, Idaho, and Utah will help them compete with Wal-Mart and other retailers who offer same-day product pick-up and delivery.
