Can you smell the fresh mowed lawns?

Temperatures in Cheyenne reached the mid 60's on Thursday, May 14, and dried up the grass enough for mowers to be able to cut through the jungles growing around the Capitol City after our abundant rainfall this month.

There have been plenty of May showers so far. At least a measurable amount of precipitation has fallen on Cheyenne every day since April 29, totaling nearly four inches, according to the Wyoming Tribune Eagle. That's more than half of all the precipitation Cheyenne has received all year and last Saturday, May 9, the city set a new record for single-day rainfall.

When the mercury reached into the mid to upper 60's on Thursday, the sound of lawn mowers could be heard all around town and the sweet aroma of fresh mowed grass filled the air. Hopefully you got a little mowing in, because the forecast calls for more rain heading into this weekend.

Before heading in to work, I was able to get my front yard cut down. Thanks to Kin's Mower & Small Engine Repair, my Craftsman was all revved up and ready to mow this morning. Are you among the mowed or the un-mowed?
