I consider myself frugal on most occasions, but I never thought about using a cup from the previous year to save a few bucks at Cheyenne Frontier Days.

Most eats and refreshments are expensive at rodeos, fairs and carnivals because vendor space fees, supplies, employees, booth, and likely travel expenses can make for a thin profit margin. I don’t know that to be a fact but I also think my values would preclude me from trying to save a buck by claiming a refill while using a cup from the previous year.

I like their lemonade and I like the convenience of having them on sight. But sometimes, the cost of something that is mostly water, sugar and lemon juice seems steep, but I’ll pay $7 or $15 for a large not-quite-hot tub sized cup.

It never crossed my mind to bring an old cup from home…. until I saw a cup that looked suspicious to me. The ink had faded and was scraped and nicked (not pictured). In hindsight, I should have asked if that’s what they did, but I didn’t want to get punched.
