What kind of weird things have you found for sale on eBay?

Recently, a World War I gas mask that had been on display at the Wyoming State Museum was found up for sale on eBay, it has now been returned.

The Wyoming State Museum staff did some research on the vintage gas mask and found that it had been donated in 1919. A spokesperson says that unfortunately several artifacts went missing in the 1920's and the mask was one of them.

It was brought to the museum staff's attention that the gas mask was for sale on eBay, they contacted Presidential Pawn of Rapid City, South Dakota where it was being sold.

The owners, Chris and Trevor Johnson, immediately removed the mask from auction and returned it to the museum where it is currently on display. Chris Johnson remarked, 'The mask is back where it belongs and we are thrilled to have played a part in getting it there.'

The Wyoming State Museum is located inside the Barrett Building at 2301 Central Ave. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday in downtown Cheyenne. Admission is free, so might be a great place to take the kids before summer vacation is over.
