Firewatch.” If you’re a gamer, you’ll want to try this game.

Billing themselves as a small but scrappy video game studio in San Francisco, Campo Santo has a new video game that just came out. Firewatch is based on a volunteer fire lookout in Wyoming’s Yellowstone National Park. Campo Santo is a small group but two of them are from Wyoming.  The code monkeys and story tellers have been working for two years to bring this game to market and as of Feb. 9, it is now available on Windows, Mac, Linux and on Steam and PlayStation 4.

Reviews have been relatively good with Rock Paper Shotgun writing about the developers: “Campo Santo are an indie game-making supergroup comprised of The Walking Dead designers”

But then in the comments section PopeRatzo sniped:

"LIKE A SUPERGROUP OF MUSICIANS FROM ALL THE BANDS YOU DON’T LIKE. AND NOT EVEN THE BEST MUSICIANS FROM THOSE BANDS."

There will always be idiots and haters, but they can turn a phrase…..

I myself am not a gamer, but I hope this game does well, and maybe cause some people to come see the incredible beauty that we have here in Wyoming. Last year was a record setter for tourism, and with the price of gasoline down, bring in those tourist dollars. Wyoming is worth the trip.
