Just over two weeks after Luke Martinez fractured a bone in his shooting hand during a bar fight in downtown Laramie, the Wyoming senior guard has been suspended indefinitely. University of Wyoming athletics officials announced Monday that charges have been filed against Martinez over the incident on December 30, 2012.

An announcement about the injury came two weeks ago on December 31. The news about the fight became public last week, when initially police said no charges were going to be filed. Martinez was arrested Sunday.

With the ongoing legal action, Wyoming Coach Larry Shyatt, nor any other UW official will have any further comment.

He was the Cowboys second leading scorer this season, averaging 14.5 points per game. He was also averaging 3 rebounds per game and led the squad with 25 steals this season. Martinez was shooting 42.2 percent from deep and had made a team-high 35 3-point field goals.

The incident happened at 2:30 am on December 30 at the Buckhorn Bar.
