An iconic basketball coach passed away just a month a go. He used to come to Laramie Wyoming twice a year. He won a National Title with the Running Rebels of the University of Nevada At Las Vegas. His name was Tark the "Shark" Tarkanian. I heard him say in a bar in Laramie one night that the way to win your conference and get into the NCAA Tournament was to "win at home and split on the road!" The University of Wyoming Cowboy's men's basketball team just lost a crucial home game to San Jose State 64-59 only two days ago. The Cowboys have dropped to fourth place in the Mountain West Conference. Now they have to go into the arena where the Mountain West Conference Tournament is going to be played. And try to beat a team they have beaten once this year. UNLV. However....the Thomas & Mack  center is a building the Pokes have not won in since 2003! With two of its last three regular-season games on the road, the University of Wyoming men's basketball team faces a critical Mountain West contest at UNLV on Saturday. The Cowboys (21-7, 10-5 MW) are one of five teams within two games of the conference lead, but now play the Rebels (15-13, 6-9 MW). Wyoming trails in the all-time series with UNLV, 16-34, including just a 3-23 mark in Las Vegas. http://www.gowyo.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/022615aaa.html
