Are you ready to wade the shore and cast the line? You can certainly do that this weekend and it is absolutely FREE. This Saturday, June 7 is a celebration called Wyoming Free Fishing Day.

All day on Saturday, residents and non-residents of the Cowboy State can cast their lines in the waters for free with no license required. Fishermen of all ages can enjoy spending time together fishing in all waters of Wyoming with the exception of Yellowstone National Park and the Wind River Indian Reservation.

It's not a total free-for-all though. Regular fishing regulations like gear restrictions, fishing hours, and creel and size limits still apply. For those in Cheyenne, Sloan's Lake was just stocked not long ago with catfish. Have fun and best to you on your big catch.

For more information and regulation specks, contact the Wyoming Game & Fish Department at 307-777-4600.
