People come to Wyoming from around the world, especially during Cheyenne Frontier Days in Cheyenne, to relive the rich history of the great American west. The wide open spaces, the legends and tall tales of daring do along with cowboys and Indians, vast herds of buffalo and cattle and life on the trail and starting a ranch on your own piece of ground.

Wyoming has more than a few claims to history when it comes to Tom Horn, the Johnson County War and the ranches that helped to establish The Cowboy State.

Annamarie and Dr. Sloan Hales of the Historic Wyoming Hereford Ranch open their ranch many times during the year for charity events. Both the Hales love telling the history of this very old and famous ranch and will be today’s guest speakers.

You can take in their great presentation and history as The Cowgirls Of The West Museum hosts their monthly luncheon program today, Jan. 11, at Little America Hotel at 11:30 a.m.

The public is welcome to attend but reservations are needed and can be made by calling 307-638-4994. The luncheon cost is $20

The great American west is loved and admired around the world. Here’s a bit of it in your own back yard.
