International student numbers studying in U.S. colleges just topped one million. After the Institute of International Study took a look at statistics, they found that Wyoming is the cheapest state where they can study and live.

Those from out of the country now bring $35.8 billion into the U.S economy. Wyoming is attractive for the country’s least expensive education and cost of living.

Our number of international students is over 800 at the University of Wyoming alone. Of them, 100 are scholars. Over 90 countries from around the world represent at UW.

Maybe you couldn’t help noticing four of Wyoming’s bordering states are also in the top 10 for cheapest per student.

Of the top countries of origin for students, the leader at 32 percent is China, India is in second place at 16 percent, then tied at 6 percent are both South Korea and Saudi Arabia.  This world map shows more of the country origins here.
