Or at least, it's smarter than our neighbors. According to a study on inc.com about average IQ scores by state, Wyoming ranked within the top fifteen of "smartest states." A truly average IQ score is 100, even. Wyoming placed at 14th out of 50 with an average IQ score of 102.4. South Dakota barely beat us to the next rank up with 102.8.

Massachusetts leads the pack as the "smartest state" with an average IQ of 104.3, and coming in dead last is Mississippi with 94.2. We also ranked above Colorado by six ranks, so, I guess that confirms what we've always assumed.

It should be noted, however, that many medical institutions and respected researchers believe that the Intelligence Quotient (IQ) test does not accurately assess intelligence for all individuals.
