Snow and ice are in the forecast for the grounds of the Barrett Building, 2301 Central Avenue, in downtown Cheyenne on Saturday, February 23.

It's the 5th annual Wyoming Kids Extreme Ice Festival from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The free event includes lots of activities for children and their families. You are encouraged to bring your sleds and other winter toys to play in the fresh snow. The Wyoming State Parks Department started the festival as a way to show families how much there is to do in Wyoming throughout the Winter.

Events include a toboggan run, a snowmobile simulator, snowshoe demonstrations, horse and carriage rides, a World War II winter unit display and ice carvers creating works of art from blocks of ice.

Snow making machines will be on hand to create more white stuff in case Mother Nature doesn't cooperate.

Get bundled up and see what kind of fun Wyoming Winter's can offer.
