Are you a Hispanic female student in fifth grade on up to a senior in high school?

You can be part of this weekend's annual Wyoming Latina Youth Conference in Cheyenne.

Each year students from all over the state gather to inspire 'The Power of Choice.'

Events include a banquet at the Holiday Inn on Friday, October 19, a variety of conferences at Laramie County Community College and a dance workshop on Sunday, October 21.

The Latin Jam 2012 on Saturday, October 20, features Melissa Lujan, Lauren Taylor, MC Magic, Grupo Folklorico Sabor Latino and Cheyenne's Folklorico Dancers. The concert is open to the public at a cost of $15 for adults and $10 for 12 and under. Proceeds benefit the Wyoming Latina Youth Conference.

The banquet on Friday is also open to the public at Cheyenne's Holiday Inn on Foxfarm Road. The keynote speaker is award-winning poet, columnist and inspirational speaker, Magdalena Gomez. She will focus on Latina identity, culture, history and social change. Tickets are $30.
