A Rock Springs man wanted on felony domestic battery charges was arrested Wednesday after a tactical team was called out and surrounded a home in the area.

Sweetwater County Sheriff Mike Lowell says investigators learned of the whereabouts of 45-year-old Donald Ray Patrick on Wednesday, tracking him to a home in the Clearview acres area. The sheriff says Patrick was charged with domestic battery (third offense), which is a felony.

Patrick was also wanted on a bench warrant issued by the District Court in Green River.

After the residence was surrounded by the tactical team, Detective Michelle Hall talked to Patrick by telephone and convinced him to surrender.  After his arrest, investigators found an AR-15 rifle in the home. Patrick had a 2009 felony conviction for domestic battery, according to the sheriff.

At last report, Patrick was still in jail in the Sweetwater County Detention Center, awaiting an initial court appearance.
