Wyoming State Park Fee Increases Proposed

The Wyoming Division of State Parks, Historic Sites and Trails is taking public comment through August 1 on proposed fee increases which are ex[ected to go into effect on January 1.

The proposed increases would include a $2 a day use fee increase for Wyoming residents, as well as a $3 per day. camping fee increase. Residents would also have to pay $7 more for the purchase of an annual day-use permit, and $10 more for an annual camping permit. Additional day-use and camping permits will increase by $5 and $8 respectively.

The daily fee for use of a site with electricity will go up by $5 for both residents and non-residents.

Non-residents will also see a variety of fee increases, including paying $3 more for day use fees and a $5 camping fee increase. Non-residents will also pay $17 more for the purchase of an annual day-use permit.

Division officials say all funds collected from user fees go back into Wyoming's state parks and historic sites in the form of capital construction, major maintenance,  and interpretation, with up to 30 percent being used for general maintenance.
