Wyoming Winter Weekend Fun On Ice

The annual Saratoga Ice Fishing Derby is this weekend offering fun and prizes.  There will be more than $6,000 in guaranteed cash prizes and up to $35,000 in additional prizes possible.  "Trophy fish" have been added--catch one and it may be worth $20,000 or $10,000 or $5,000!

There are also cash prizes in the “Small Fry” division.

Other ways to win include enter the Best Hut Contest and Best Fish Story Contest!  You can download the FD Best Hut entry here. And with the new year, you can buy your fishing license online to make it easy.

People drive for hundreds of miles to take advantage of one of the most active and free mineral hot springs in Wyoming. Others come to Saratoga for some of the best blue ribbon trout fishing in the country. If those aren’t enough of an attraction, maybe you’ll come for the cash.

The weather looks like it will cooperate, the lake is stocked with new trout and the ice is thick. Prizes are worth over $35,000. Family fishing time together? Priceless.

Concessions will be available at the lake with The American Legion and Legion Auxiliary along with other vendors will have food available all weekend.

Hours of the two-day derby are on Saturday from 7 am to 5 pm and Sunday from 7 am to 2 pm.

Registration Fees
$35—ADULT FISHERMAN
$10—SMALL FRY FISHERMAN     (under age 14)
Note: A Small Fry Fisherman may enter as an Adult Fisherman and be eligible for those prizes,  but would not be eligible for any of the Small Fry pay outs.
