Wyoming senior receiver Tanner Gentry was added to the 2016 Biletnikoff Award Watch List Tuesday. It’s the second consecutive year Gentry appears on the list.

Gentry was one of eight receivers from across the country that were added. He’s leading the Mountain West and ranks No. 10 nationally in receptions per game at 7.25. Gentry also leads the MW and is 16th nationally in total receiving yards with 388. He is second in the conference and No. 23 in the country for receiving yards per game at 97.0. His three receiving TD’s puts Gentry No. 2 in the MW and 34th nationally.

The senior has recorded three 100-yard games through UW’s first four this season. Gentry has caught 29 passes for 388 yards. He’s coming off a career-high 12 receptions for 127 yards in the loss at Eastern Michigan last Friday. He’s also had 124 yards at Nebraska and 104 versus Northern Illinois.

Fans can vote for the award. Recently the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, the Florida-based creator and sponsor of the Biletnikoff award opened the 2016 Fan Vote. Every fan may vote once daily. The aggregate fan tally will be counted as one official vote to determine semi-finalists (10 receivers), finalists (three) and the winner.

The Biletnikoff Award is presented annually to college football’s outstanding receiver for a single season. Former Wyoming great Marcus Harris was the 1996 recipient.

This year’s winner will be announced Dec. 8 at The Home Depot College Football Awards on ESPN.
