Nashville and Memphis may be the most mentioned cities in country music, but Cheyenne has its fair share of twanging serenades that name-drop our city. After diving into some musical history spanning over a century, I was surprised to discover songs I'd never heard mentioning the Magic City of the Plains.

DID YOU KNOW? The Memphis Rock n' Soul Museum claims that 'Memphis' is included in recorded music lyrics more than any other city in the world. The museum claims over 1,000 songs mention the Bluff City in their lyrics.

Any Cheyenne resident worth their salt knows the most celebrated anthems featuring the city. I am, of course, talking about the legendary refrains of Garth Brooks' 'Beaches of Cheyenne,' George Strait's 'I Can Still Make Cheyenne,' and Chris LeDoux's 'Photo Finish.'
