The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is warning travelers to expect winds of up to 65 MPH along parts of interstates 80 and 25 today (Thursday) and Friday.

The agency posted this statement on it's website early Thursday:

''A High Wind Warning is in effect until 5 PM MST Friday for the wind prone areas of southeast Wyoming along I-80 starting later this afternoon and till 11 PM MST Friday for the I-25 corridor between Chugwater and Wheatland. West to southwest winds of 35 to 45 MPH with gusts up to 65 MPH are likely. Winds will initially peak this morning across the Chugwater to Wheatland area with a brief lull in winds this afternoon ahead of them increasing once again later this evening. Use caution if traveling, especially if driving light/high profile vehicles or towing a trailer."
