Just when plants at the Cheyenne Botanic Gardens were starting to recover from a severe storm a few weeks ago, another storm on Sunday pounded the gardens again.

Director Shane Smith says the latest storm caused "pretty severe damage" and says staff at the facility are once again in cleanup and repair mode. He says it's especially frustrating in light of the fact that "we were just beginning to look good for Frontier Days" and recovering from the last hail storm.

He says "some stuff will grow back and some won't", adding there is still some time in the local growing season for some of the plants to recover. Smith says the facility is accepting donations to help with the recovery effort.

He says they have already spent the gardens planting budget for this year due to previous storm damage.
