The blizzard that shut down the East Coast didn’t keep Steven Tyler away from the television cameras. Saturday he appeared on CNN’s coverage of the storm with his daughter, Mia.

.

Tyler is in New York for a few days promoting his upcoming solo album, whose second single, 'Red, White & You,' was released Friday. He did a spot on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Friday. After getting stuck, He decided to use the time to visit his daughters and their families, and while he and Mia were walking the streets, they were spotted by CNN’s Poppy Harlow.

He said 'I’m gonna hunker down. I got a funny feeling this storm is gonna keep us here a couple of extra days. Mia recalled that the two of them used to love playing in the snow when she was growing up. 'He’s a big kid, so the minute I got up here, I was like, ‘Let’s go play!'

.

Although Tyler did not say that he had not seen that much snow since the backstage area of California Jam 2 in 1978, he did have advice for those who felt they could brave the snow and head outside. 'Do not do it, It’s supposed to go until 12, 1:00 in the morning, so there will be another foot of snow. Stay home. Two words: Hot chocolate,' to which Mia added, 'and family hugs.'

The Aerosmith singer has been in Nashville for about a year working on a country album that he hopes will be out at in February.
