Did you want to get away from it all this 4th of July weekend? Then don't even think about going camping at Wyoming state campsites because "it all" will all be there.

Sorry.

I'm sure, due to the pandemic, people have more than just a little cabin fever and want to get out. Add to that the nice weather that's coming this weekend and the 4th of July holiday. Add to that, the 4th lands on a Saturday this year - and it's a perfect camping storm.

The state released the following: "Due to the continued high demand for outdoor recreation, persons looking to camp at a Wyoming State Park during the Fourth of July weekend should be aware campsite reservations throughout the state park system are sold out; however, we welcome the public to come out for the day, enjoy a picnic and recreate."

The list of Wyoming state parks includes: Boysen, Buffalo Bill, Curt Gowdy, Glendo, Guernsey, Keyhole, Medicine Lodge, Seminole, and Sinks Canyon. So, everything is full. Hawk Springs still says first-come, first-serve but it is already at capacity.

But do not despair. You might have noticed that Wyoming is kinda big. Lots of land and, even when tourists come to visit, not many people out here. If you think about it there are plenty of places to go that other people do not know about. You just have to know your state.
