Buffalo Broadcaster Quits His Job After Josh Allen Bet Backfires
When the Bills traded up to get Wyoming quarterback Josh Allen with the seventh pick in the NFL Draft, everyone in Buffalo was happy. Except for this guy.
SportsRadio 550 WGR-AM personality Ryan Gates is stepping down after betting his job that the Bills would draft UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen instead of Allen. Just over a month after making the ill-advised wager during WGR's "Schopp and the Bulldog" Show, Gates announced his resignation on the air.
“To those wondering if we are playing some sort of long con about my future at WGR, we are not,” Gates posted on Twitter. “Friday will be my last day as a producer for Schopp and the Bulldog."
Gates has also posted his resume online and has changed his twitter handle to @quitterryan.
