Burned Bear Rescued By Colorado Parks and Wildlife
A yearling bear that has sustained severe burns has been rescued by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. Firefighters spotted the bear walking near the East Canyon fire, west of Durango.
Wildlife officers were able to successfully locate, tranquility, and assess the bear's injuries. During the injury assessment, it appears that the bear's paws have been severely burned.
The bear has been transported to the Frisco Creek Rehabilitation Facility where the staff will treat the injuries. As soon as the bear has made a full recovery, it will be released back into the wild.
