He did reveal the eight minute song was inspired by the death of Buddy Holly, but the rest of the lyrics deep lyrics have only been hinted at and speculated.

By comparison, Bob Dylan’s lyrics for “Like A Rolling Stone” sold for just over $2m at auction last year and John Lennon’s lyrics for “A Day in the Life,” which sold for $1.2m
